She is survived by her parents, Raymond and Julia Hill; her grandmother Christine Hill; her sister, Kim Dixon and husband Winfried; her brother, Randy Hill and wife, Robin; her nieces Julie Pennington and husband Travis, Hannah Howard and husband D. Charlette worked for Poulan Weedeater until its closing. She later worked for the family business VCC Janitorial Supply until her health would no longer permit. Charlette was devoted to her family and friends. She loved her brother and sister and was very close to her nieces and nephew. She treated them as if they were her own children spending as much time as possible with them and always spoiling them with gifts at birthdays and holidays. Charlette loved special holidays and celebrations at her parents’ home. She always extended invitations to friends and less fortunate people who could not be with their own families at those special times.
Charlette was married to the love of her life, Bill Downing. They had seven wonderful years together before he passed away.
Charlette suffered from kidney failure. She handled her illness with grace and dignity. She never complained and you could always find her with a smile on her face no matter what she was going through. Somehow even through her illness, she always found the time to care for others, visit those in need, make a much needed call or send a sweet card to cheer someone up.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Bob Massengill and the staff at Schumpert Oncology for their special care of Charlette.
Also special thanks to the Fresenius Medical Care Staff Dialysis Center in Bossier for their support and continuous care of Charlette.
Dr. Kasabali, her cardiologist, his staff, the doctors and staff at the Critical Care Unit at Willis Knighton Bossier City exteneded exceptional kindness, care and support to Charlette and her family over the past few weeks. During this most difficult time, the entire staff provided much love and care to us and we would like to express our sincerest appreciation.
