BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services celebrating the life of Annie Marie Thorn, 77, who passed away on May 1, 2016 will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Pastor Darrell Cooper of First Baptist Princeton, where she was a member, will officiate. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Maggie Akins; grandmother, Betty Williams; husband, Clinton “C.R.” Ray Thorn, Sr.; son, Clinton (Ray)Thorn, Jr. and siblings, Martha Sholars, Arnina Shumway, Tommy Akins, Mike Akins and Debbie Ferguson.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Thorn and Pam and Denny Dempsey and will be missed dearly. Also left to cherish the memory of“GMaw”,“GaGa”and“Granny”as she was known to her grandchildren are Paul Jackson, Leigh and Rick Gallagher, Allie and Troy Keith, Crystal Parker, Charlene and Clayton Dougharty and Amber and Michael Ezarnack. Great-grandchildren surviving Annie are Christian Jackson-Short, Jackson and Jacob Gallagher, Annison Keith, William Parker, Madalyn Dougharty and Anthony, Paris and Kayden Ezernack. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and her special friends Johnna and Jason Kunath and family.
A heartfelt thanks from the family goes to Dr. Blum, Dr. Desai, Dr. Beene and Michelle Mollenkamp from Christus Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Jerald Monroe, Trey Hicks, Thomas Fletcher, Henry Akins, Jr., Ben Gates and Brandon Masters. Honorary pallbearers are Denny Dempsey, Ron Jackson, Rick Gallagher, Troy Keith, Clayton Dougharty and Michael Ezernack.
