Tom Goerner
Bossier City, LA – Memorial services for Tom Goerner were held on Saturday, September 8 at First United Methodist Church in Bossier City. The Rev Karl Klaus officiated the services. Visitation was held at 1:00 pm with the service at 2:00 pm.
Tom proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as Technical Sergeant for Air Force 917th Maintenance Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base for 33 years. He retired from the Air Force in June 6, 2009. He belonged to the Air Force Sergeant’s Association.
Cooking & eating great food was one of Tom’s greatest passions. Sharing that food by catering events on base with his friends was one of his greatest joys. He always had a servant’s heart and enjoyed volunteering with The Boy Scouts of America in his younger years and more recently truly loved working with the youth group at his church home, First United Methodist Church in Bossier City.
Tom loved sports of all kinds but in particular his Shreveport Mudbugs. If you talked with him during the hockey season you would hear every detail about the latest game. He volunteered at the annual Mudbug Festival by preparing many pounds of crawfish for the event. He was also so proud to volunteer as an usher at the Independence Bowl for many years.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Jean and Frank Goerner of Houston, Tx. He is survived by his sister, Nancy McAdams, brother-in-law Skipper McAdams of Baton Rouge, La, his brother, Bill Goerner, sister-in-law Mary Goerner of Hallettsville, TX, nieces Mary Jean McAdams of Baton Rouge, La, Mandy Davies (& husband Jeff Davies) of Katy, TX, nephews, Skip McAdams of Baton Rouge, La, Frank Goerner (& wife Lee) of Honolulu, Hawaii, John Goerner (& wife Elizabeth) of Corpus Christi, TX and several great nieces and nephews.

If anyone serves me, he must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. John 12:26
