Stanley Kondrat
BOSSIER CITY, LA – Funeral services will be held for Stanley Kondrat at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Stanley was born October 11, 1938 in Krylow, Poland. Sadly, during WWII German troops stormed his small town and sent him and part of his family off to the work camps. After the war ended in 1945, he, one sister, father and mother were rescued by American Troops from that work camp. They were transported to the Port of New Orleans where they lived for a very short period of time in Burnside, Louisiana, and became U.S. citizens. Through determination and much communication, the family was reunited in Chicago with his brother and two older sisters, thankfully suffering no losses in the immediate family during the war years. Stanley was educated within the Catholic Parochial School System in Chicago. Upon graduation he joined the United States Army to gladly serve his country.
After being discharged, Stanley began a career in business form manufacturing in Chicago, subsequently transferring to Shreveport in the summer of 1966. Stanley held several leadership roles during his tenure in the business and retired from Vanier Graphics in 1994. Stanley was a humble gentleman who enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering in the garage, learning history, cooking for his family, jazz music and was a big fan of classic western movies.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kornelius, his mother Katharine, and his sister Helena.
Stanley is survived by his wife Glenda of 30 years; his daugh-ter, Rose Kondrat Huddleston, her husband Robbie; stepchildren, Allan, Randy and Nichole Matthews; sisters, Irene Zurek, Wanda Jasinski; brother, Wally and his wife Betty Kondrat; grandchildren, Morgan Fauber, Courtney Matthews, Makenze Matthews, Mitchell Matthews, Colton Matthews, Cheylan Beene; great grandchildren, Ryder Matthews and Henry Fauber.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Huddleston, Allan Matthews, Randy Matthews, Mitchell Matthews, Colton Matthews, Bob Baumer and honorary pallbearer, Charles Matthews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Basel Kasabali, Dr. Bipin Turakhia and special thanks to Nurse Lisa Warner.
