I hope everyone has been enjoying this beautiful spring weather, despite the pollen that is attempting to do most of us in. If the pollen is keeping you from enjoying the great outdoors, then some of the newest materials we’ve added to our collection will hopefully keep you entertained!
First, for our beginning-readers we are introducing Vox Books to our collection. The best way I can describe these without a picture is to compare them to the musical books I remember from childhood. They have a side panel with buttons to control sound, volume, and the like so that kids can follow along in the book as it is read to them. These are a great tool to help reluctant readers gain a bit of confidence and get that extra boost to help them on their way to reading on their own.
The other new addition that I want to highlight is GoChip Beam. These devices are pretty awesome I have to say. Each GoChip is loaded with 5 movies or a complete season of a Television series, has a rechargeable battery that will last for 4 hours, a charging cable, and allows for 8 simultaneous users at once. You don’t have to have internet to use these either, they are hotspots so all you need to do is download the app to your device(s), connect to the GoChip, and enjoy! We have a wide selection of movie genres and TV shows, so there’s fun for the whole family.
I’ve been playing around with both of these new additions and have found them to be pretty user-friendly. However, the librarians are here to help so if you find that you need or want some guidance don’t hesitate to ask! Enjoy!
