Shreveport – Bossier City, LA – The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau will host the North Louisiana Travel Outlook Conference (NLTOC) on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. The cost to participate virtually is $20. A limited number of tickets are being sold for an in-person experience of the conference at Hilton Shreveport in downtown Shreveport. That experience includes lunch and costs $30. Both tickets can be purchased online by visiting, www.Shreveport-Bossier.org/NLTOC.
This conference gives local tourism professionals a rare opportunity to hear from international, national, and local tourism experts, who will be sharing information about the impacts of COVID-19 and recovery efforts for the future. Participants will be able to access the conference from the comfort of their desk or in-person with government mandates strictly enforced.
“The North Louisiana Travel Outlook Conference gives the local and regional tourism industry an opportunity to arm themselves with economic resources, travel insight and more pertinent information as we all combat the effects of COVID-19 on our economy,” said Stacy Brown, president of the Tourist Bureau. “Remote conferences may be the new normal right now, but we’ve partnered with Hilton Shreveport to offer 50 registrants the chance to attend our conference in-person with a warm meal in a sanitized location that will adhere to all CDC guidelines.”
The purpose of the NLTOC is to inform tourism and hospitality industry partners about the current and future impact of COVID-19. Tourism is a vital part of north Louisiana’s economy and this conference will provide insight on local and national travel trends, covering a variety of topics including a look at the impact on Shreveport-Bossier’s economy. The Tourist Bureau welcomes feature speaker, Adam Sacks, an internationally renowned tourism expert and economist. Sacks is president of Tourism Economics, which is an Oxford Economics company dedicated to analytically-based consulting to the tourism sector.
Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser is a featured speaker, too. Other speakers will cover topics that range from casino gaming to sports tourism and conventions and meetings to festivals and outdoor events. The conference will consist of six speakers, five panel discussions, interactive trivia segments, giveaways and more. To view a full schedule of events for NLTOC, click here.
