BPL offers Homebound Services to our patrons at no cost. We will deliver reading materials directly to patrons’ homes via mail or home delivery. If you know someone who is permanently homebound or temporarily unable to leave their home due to illness, surgery, or some other condition this is definitely worth considering.
Applicants are required to fill out a request form with documentation from a caregiver or physician confirming the need for Homebound Services. This information is kept confidential. The patron must have a current BPL card or obtain one through the service and must be a resident of Bossier Parish.
Due to the methods of delivery there is a check out limit of three items at a time, which can be loaned for up to 30 days. Children’s and Adult Fiction and Nonfiction items are available for loan. Reference materials, magazines, and local history items may not be loaned. As with regular check outs a late fee will be applied to the user’s account if the items are returned after the due date, damaged, or lost.
