Harry Joseph Paulin
BOSSIER CITY, LA – Harry Joseph Paulin passed away on June 14, 2016 at the age of 92. He was born December 26, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Marie Paulin, who came through Ellis Island from Austria.
Harry was a first generation American. He came south to Cadet School at Texas A & M University. Harry was a Navigator Bombardier, serving in the Air Force during World War II. Harry taught machine shop at the Bossier Skill Center in Bossier City and taught through Northwestern State University at Barksdale AFB.
He enjoyed his students and it seems like every week one of his former students would come up to him and say, “Mr. Paulin, you taught me and you were the best teacher I ever had”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Clara and brother, Frank. He is now with his beloved wife, Wanda, who he has missed passionately for the last 13 years.
Harry is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Thornell and husband, Bennie of Bossier City, LA, Linda Lockwood of Shreveport, LA, Sheri Nies and husband, Steve of Land O’Lakes, FL, Peggy Payne and husband, Ernie of Waskom, TX and Pauline Richardson of Waskom, TX; grandchildren, Robby Lockwood, Jennifer Vasser, Dusty Payne, Derek Payne, Ryan Gossens, and Corey Gossens. He was also blessed with four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, June 17, 2016 from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. A service celebrating Harry’s life will follow at 10 a.m. Officiating will Bro. Craig Johnson of North Point Community Church. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery.
Honoring Harry as pallbearers will be grandsons, Robby Lockwood, Dusty Payne, Derek Payne and sons-in-law, Bennie Thornell, Ernie Payne and Robert Lockwood. We will miss you, our Daddy, Dad and Poppa.
