James Byron Braswell, Jr.
BOSSIER CITY, LA – A memorial service for James Byron Braswell, Jr. will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Rose-Neath’s Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Tommy Patton. Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Byron was born January 31, 1932 in Minden, LA to James Byron Braswell, Sr. and Bernice Minchew Braswell. He passed away June 19, 2016 in Bossier City, LA. It is only fitting that he passed away on Father’s Day, his soul soaring into Heaven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Methodist University. Byron was the owner of several businesses related to the construction industry. He was a member and Past Potentate of the El Karubah Shrine, member of the Scottish Rite and 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed frying fish, grillin’ for family and friends, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, playing golf and last, but not least, dancing with his wife. Byron dearly loved his God, family and country, also his Saints, Cowboys, Tigers, Mustangs and his western shows.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Byron is survived by his wife, Betty Ashley Braswell; daughters and spouses, Dianne and Bubba Philen, Sandra and David Schauble, Susan and Scott Crawford; son Byron Braswell; stepsons and spouses, Desmond Ashley and Darren Victory, Percy and Beverly Ashley; numerous grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to his beloved caregivers, Patsy, Tiffany, Margo, Tuffy, Libby, Jean, Sherri, Beverly and Willis-Knighton Hospice.
