Mildred Laverne Willett
BOSSIER CITY, LA – Mildred Laverne Willett, 82, was called home on June 28, 2016 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA. Interment will immediately follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Haughton, LA. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Rose Neath Bossier. Mildred grew up in Evansville, IN and ended up settling in Bossier City, LA after her husband’s retirement from the United States Army. She will be remembered for her countless hours of community service through Homemakers, 4-H, Simple Church, and numerous other organizations. She left behind a legacy of helping and serving those in need.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, and her loving husband of 56 years, James Richard Willett. She is survived by her sons, Richard Willett and wife, Karen of Tucson, AZ and Michael E. Willett and wife, Sandy of Benton, LA; daugh-ter, Vickie Collom and husband, Rick of Bossier City, LA; granddaughters, Cindy Andreozzi and husband, Scott of Carriere, MS and Jennifer Burris and husband, Joel of Benton, LA; grandsons, Brad Collom of Bossier City, LA, Michael A. Willett and wife, Jamie of Benton, LA, and Curtis Duchette of Tucson, AZ; and numerous great-grandchildren and extended family who meant the world to her.
The family would like to suggest memorials be made to the Louisiana 4-H Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
