Sherry June Flowers Arant

BENTON, LA – Funeral services for Sherry Arant will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Rose-Neath’s Bossier Chapel. Of ficiating will be Monroe Mercer, pastor of Greenacres Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Sherry was born December 29, 1944 in Holly Ridge, LA to Jesse and Lois Flowers. She died June 30, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. Sherry worked as an income tax preparer for H& R Block, as a linen department manager for Burlington Coat Factory and as a homemaker.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Orlando Flowers of West Monroe, LA and her mother-in-law, Dean Arant of Bossier City, LA.

Sherry is survived by her mother, Lois Lozell Flowers of West Monroe, LA; her husband of 50 years, Gene Arant; two sons, Larry Arant of Benton, LA, Tim Arant and his wife, Sephanie of Haughton, LA; one grandson, Jesse Delano Arant of Haughton, LA; sister, Carla Amelia Lawson and her husband, Ronnie of West Monroe, LA; one brother, Keith Dwain Flowers and his wife, Bettye of Marion, LA and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John David Jackson, Mike Payne, Wayne Arant, Blaine Chapman, Brandon Chapman, and Chuck Glasgow.

The family would like to send a special, heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff and respiratory therapy staff at Christus Highland Critical Care Unit, as well as Drs. Jonathan Davis and Robert Holladay for all they did to make our loved one as comfortable as possible during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Sherry June Flowers Arant be made to the Families Helping Families in Shreveport, LA.
