Ida Mae or “Miss Ida” was of the greatest generation. Growing up in difficult times she developed a deep and sincere appreciation and love for her parents and family and friends.
She never met a stranger and always had a good story to tell that would uplift you and you would never forget it!! She saw life in vivid color, not black and white. She lived her belief, but never shunned anyone in need. She sacrificed her life to her family and friends and never expected anything in return. She loved baseball and gardening and was most proud of winning the Bossier City Beautification Award more than once. She can be remembered for the extravagant Christmas lighting display at her home in Swan Lake that was there for many years before her age caught up with her. More recently you would find her at Bella Amore entertaining brides and giving her opinion when asked. And if you didn’t want honesty, don’t ask!! She spoke her truth!! She will be missed by many.
Honoring her as pallbearers were: John LeGrand, Donnie Tubbs, Billy Williams, Kendall LeRay, Kevin Vinson, and Jason Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Honeycutt, David Bradford, and Ryan Thomas.
