The fundraiser for Renesting Project, Inc. will feature a silent auction, design competition, New Orleans inspired cuisine, décor, live jazz music and “street” performers at the Bossier Civic Center, Aug. 6.
BOSSIER CITY, LA – The seventh annual Nest Fest, a fundraiser benefiting clients of registered social service agencies in Bossier and Caddo Parishes as they transition from homelessness, will be held 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Bossier Civic Center. The event will feature New Orleans inspired cuisine, decor, live jazz music and “street” performers will set the mood for a casual evening reminiscent of the Big Easy. The event also includes an impressive silent auction and viewing of the third annual CHAIRished Beginnings design competition.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Renesting Project, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to reclaim gently used furniture and household goods from the community; to clean and repair the furniture; and to renest (provide/deliver) the furniture and household goods at no cost to clients of registered social service agencies in Bossier and Caddo Parishes as they transition from homelessness.
The third annual CHAIRished Beginnings design competition, sponsored by the American Society of Interior Designers South Central Chapter, will also take place at the event. Vignettes designed with reclaimed items will be on display and entrants will compete in categories such as Best in Show and Best Transformed Item. After the judging, all of the items will be auctioned or donated to Renesting Project’s clients. Design students, enthusiasts and professionals take part in the competition.
“The community’s attendance and continued support of Nest Fest allows the non-profit organization, Renesting Project, to fulfill the mission of serving families and individuals transitioning from homelessness to hopefulness in northwest Louisiana,” said Noel Haacker, founder and executive director at Renesting Project. “Renesting Project does not receive state or federal funds so the community’s generosity is essential to our very existence.”
The fundraiser is sponsored in part by Crawford Design Group, Willis-Knighton Health System and Zaxby’s.
Reserved seating is available for groups of 8 at $1,000 or $500 with different levels of lagniappe. General admission tickets to Nest Fest are $50. For more information, to reserve a table or purchase tickets, visit www.RenestingProjectInc.org/NestFest.
