Cleo Camilla McCoy Goss
BOSSIER CITY, LA – Cleo Camilla McCoy Goss went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 13, 2016 at the age of 95 after complications from a fall.
Cleo was born July 13, 1921, in Junction City, AR to H.A. and Verna McCoy. She moved to Shreveport in 1955 and began her 27 year career with Kroger. After her retirement, she enjoyed quilting with her friends and cooking. She was a devoted member of Woodridge Baptist Church. The last five years of her life were spent living at The Bloom Retirement Center in Bossier City, LA where she made many friends. Cleo was affectionately called “Mema” by her family who loved her dearly.
Preceding Cleo in death are her parents; 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Louise Farrar and husband John Edd, and Janice Birchfield and husband Bill; grandchildren, Brenda Meyers and husband Randy, Paula Bates and husband Scott, and Stacie Webb and husband John, Lee Slansky and husband Bob, and Trey Birchfield; great-grandchildren, Brandon Meyers, Sydney Rich, Christopher Bates, Peyton and Hannah Donaldson, Hunter and Clayton Webb, Krystyn Oliver, Jayden and Peyton Birchfield, and Kennedy Prescott; sisters, Monette Dendy, Alice Dison, and Gloria Tucker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2016, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 2 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Honoring Memaw as pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
