Bobby “Bob” C. Avery, Sr.
Bob Avery, age 78, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 12, 2016, at his residence. Bob was born September 20, 1937, in Cass County, Texas, to Charlie and Lynn Avery. He was a retired Bossier City police officer and Bossier Parrish Deputy Sheriff and a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John W. Avery; and one sister, Charlene Shull.
Bob is survived by four sons, Bobby C. Avery, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana, Lanny Avery and wife Monica of Longview, Texas, Vince Avery of Bossier City, Louisiana, Johnny Avery of Shreveport, Louisiana; one sister, Jodie Endsley of Doddridge, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Larry Avery, his cousin and friend, for taking care of Bob in his last days.
Services will be Monday, August 15, 2016, at 2:00 pm, at the Hanner Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Gene Parker officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm, Monday, August 15, 2016, at Hanner Funeral Service. Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery.
