If you have ever wanted to take a class to improve your work skills, or test the water to figure out if you want to go back to school you might be interested in Gale Courses. Gale “offers a wide range of highly interactive, instructor-led courses” all found on our website www.bossierlibrary.org under the Research tab. The classes are free with a BPL card.
Each course runs for six weeks with new classes starting every month. Select the course and the date you want to begin then create your personal account. You will need to enter your library card number to finalize the process. The instructions are easy to follow, but the library staff is always happy to help if you get stuck.
Choose from 375 courses under the topics of Accounting and Finance; Business; Computer Applications; Design and Composition; Health and Medical; Language and Arts; Law and Legal; Personal Development; Teaching and Education; Technology; and Writing and Publishing. At the end of each course, with a passing score, an Award of Completion will be given.

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. BPL is offering free library card replacements for old, worn out, or lost cards.
BPL is collecting non-perishable food items, clothing, toiletries, gently used clothing, and school supplies for the flood victims in South Louisiana. When you donate, we will waive your late fees. This does not apply to laptops, or lost or damaged items.
