Jean Stack McKinney, passed away on October 1, 2016 at Montclair Park from complications due to Alzheimers Disease. The Reverend David Dietzel will officiate a celebration of life service on October 6, 2016 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd, in Shreveport, followed by graveside rites. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m. Jean was born in Elma, Iowa on July 11, 1927, to Joseph R. and Helen Hennagir Stack.
She married Robert McKinney on August 20,1950 and had many happy years together until his death on May 26, 2008. Jean worked at Commercial National Bank (now Regions) for 36 years until her retirement. She & Robert (Bobby) enjoyed traveling throughout the United States & Abroad. Before moving to Montclair, she lived at Brookdale Senior Living in Bossier where she made many new friends and enjoyed playing cards every evening.
Besides her parents & husband, Jean was predeceased by her brother, Richard ( Dick) Stack & wife Helen, her sister, Helen Self & husband Willie, her brother-in law George McKinney and great-great nephew Dominic Nobles. She is survived by nieces, Patty Pendergrass and husband Ty, Great nephews Tristan Pendergrass & wife Kristel, Jeremy Pendergrass & wife Emery, great-great nephews Luke & Jake & great-great Niece Lilly, Andy Pendergrass & wife Polly (with baby on the way), Niece Kim Bickham & husband Bruce, great nephew Clint and great Neice Alexandra, Her Neice Jody Baker & great nieces Abigail & Anna, Sister-in- law Jackie Bundy and husband Bill and her sister-in-law Jo Ann McKinney. She is also survived by her niece Denise Atkins & husband Rick of Waco, Texas, Great niece Jennifer Tighe and husband Kris and great-great nieces Ryan, Kori & Hunter, Great niece Kendall Nobles and husband Danny and great-great niece Dylan all of Waco.
Pallbearers will be Bruce & Clint Bickham, Ty & Jeremy Pendergrass, Kris Tighe & Danny Nobles.
The family would like to take this time to thank Regional Hospice of NW Louisiana, Renee Mathey, Executive Director of Montclair Park, all of the wonderful workers in the Memory Care Center, especially their Director, JoAnna Hensley, who went far and beyond her duties whether it be day or night to make things happen to ease our families’ mind. Thank you will be never enough.
Last but certainly not least, we would like to thank all the staff at Preferred Care at Home. Scott, Robert, Cassie & the caring women who did many more things than just scheduling caregivers. We couldn’t have survived without Danna, Debra & Kay. Thank you to all the caregivers who treated Jean with the utmost dignity & love, especially Audra, Wendy, Pamela & Delois.
