The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana is inviting the community to paint ceramic bowls to raise hunger awareness in North Louisiana at the Empty Bowls Community Bowl Painting Event.

The Community Bowl Painting Event will take place on Thursday, March 30th from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City (near Destiny Day Spa & Courtyard Marriott).

Supplies provided, artists needed.  Bring the whole family for light refreshments and fun! For a $10 donation, guests of all ages can paint a ceramic bowl that will later be used during the Empty Bowls Hunger Awareness Dinner/Silent Auction Event set for June 1, 2017 at Eldorado Resort Casino Shreveport.

The annual Empty Bowls Hunger Awareness Dinner/Silent Auction Event is a Hunger Awareness Fundraising Event and is the Food Bank’s main fundraiser of the year. The bowls serve to remind attendees of all the empty bowls in our community that do not get filled. Sponsorships for the Empty Bowls Hunger Awareness Dinner/Silent Auction Event are still available.

In 2016, the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana provided $575,000 in value of food to our programs with the proceeds from the event.  That’s enough food for 325,000 meals.
