There are more and more hybrids and flex-fuel vehicles on the roads these days. BPL has a link on our website, www.bossierlibrary.org to help answer the many questions on how to save money at the pump and which vehicles get the best gas mileage.
The Fuel Economy Guide is under the Research and Homework menu. Click on the link and go directly to http://www.fueleconomy.gov/ where you will find several ways to track your MPG (Miles per Gallon) using your electronic device or if you prefer, print out a chart to record the gas mileage.

Another helpful tool is the Find & Compare Cars feature. Plug in the make and model or class and start your search. The thumbnail gallery of new cars is a quick way to find out which has the best fuel economy, is environmentally friendly, what the safety features are, and other specs.
Maybe you have a used car you would like to sell. Check out the Used Car Label Tool and print out a paper label to attach to the window of the vehicle.
With summer vacations around the corner you will appreciate how easy it is to check the local, state, and national gas prices. Click on the Save Money & Fuel tab to use the trip planner, find gas prices, gas mileage tips, and cost and trip calculators to help with travel plans no matter where you decide to go.
