BOSSIER CITY – Services celebrating the life of Scott Franklin Jones will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Fellowship United Methodist Church, 4750 Barksdale Blvd., with Reverend Tom Dungan officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Scott was born in Harlingen, TX on July 6, 1957 and passed away on September 17, 2017. He was a longtime resident of Bossier City and a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church. Scott was a teacher and a coach for the Caddo and Bossier Parish schools for over 25 years. He was an avid runner and had the opportunity to participate in several marathons throughout his life including The Boston Marathon in 1985. Scott loved to camp and he was proud to be a certified CASA volunteer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Stephens Jones; son, Garrett Adam Jones and parents William and Phyllis Jones.
Scott is survived by his fiancé, Lisa Corbell; brother, Randy Jones and wife Deborah, several brothers and sisters-in-law, many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jack Burt, Karl Reasor, David Duncan, Keith Stephens, Alan Stephens and Roger Moreland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fellowship United Methodist Church.
