Albert John “Albie” Cartagena
BOSSIER CITY – Services celebrating the life of Albert John “Albie” Cartagena will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. The family will be receiving friends at 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
Albie was born in Manhattan, NY on June 1, 1956. He and his wife relocated to Bossier City, LA and he has been a resident of Bossier for 25 years. He retired from G.M. as a line supervisor in 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen Cartagena; siblings, Elkie, Yvette, Gloria, Lydia and Peter; close family, just to name a few, Guillo, DaMaria, Sally, Joey, Sandy, Prieta, Christina and Pee Wee; mother-in-law, Maria T. Laguna, brother-in-law, Matthew A. Laguna, sister-in-law, Rosemarie Laguna; nieces and nephews, Sergio, Christian, Matthew Jr., Alexandra, Giovanni, Cassandra, Jason, Jonathan, Kia, and Melissa, all of New York. His Crew of the Boogie Down Bronx: Pee Wee, Mini, Saul, Yvette, Ricky, Bobby, Vivian, Manny, Wilson, Moose and Jada, of New York; his friends from G.M. in Louisiana, Judy, Jersay, Brandon, Elizabeth, Victor, Lisa, Vincento, Alex, Vergie, Ebony, David Sr., David Jr., Kim, Amani, Veronica, Ronnie, Louige, Lane, Nicole, Kelly, Ray and Patricia, as well as numerous family and many more friends.
