Obituary – Steven D. Harley

Steven D Harley

Steven David Harley, 56, of Dallas, TX, passed away December 19, 2017. Born in Springhill, LA December 26, 1960, Steve grew up in Bossier City, LA attending Bossier High School.

He served in the U.S. Air Force 1981-88 as an avionics technician rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Notable highlights of his USAF career included overseas tours to Reykjavik, Iceland as an aircrew member aboard the E-3 Sentry airborne warning and control system, or AWACS. Following his active duty service, Steve moved to Dallas, TX and began a 17 year career at Raytheon Company in Plano, TX as a Technical Engineer supporting avionics quality assurance. He also served in the Texas Air Guard 1993 -1997.

Steve was passionate about physical fitness, running, and working out at the gym. His ardent interests included astronomy, political and current events, Christian music, fishing, and keeping his Chevrolet Camaro in top running condition.

Steve is survived by siblings Stan Harley of Chandler, AZ, Janis Harley of Dallas, TX, and Lisa Harley Morrison of Frisco, TX.

Funeral service with Honor Guard ceremony will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm, DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75211. Jonathan Adkins, minister with Prestonwood Baptist Church of Plano, will officiate.
Informal reception to follow at Humperdinks, 2208 W. NW Hwy, Dallas, TX.
