Over the last few weeks, I introduced two of three new services available on the BPL website, www.bossierlibrary.org; New Book Alerts and Author Check. The third new online service is Select Reads. Patrons can sign up for this free monthly e-mail newsletter on the library website. All three can be tailor-made to connect readers to books they enjoy and authors they like.
Book lovers can customize their newsletter by selecting subjects they are most interested in. Just click on My SelectReads to choose the topics you like. Then, each week a newsletter will be emailed to you “with book recommendations generated specifically for you. It is like having your own personal librarian.”
Award winning books are listed separately and the list of various awards is long. New Titles, Author Spotlight, and a direct link to the BPL catalog are also accessible. The great thing about all three of the new online services is that they can be used individually or together so that you the reader stay informed about books, subjects, and authors you are most interested in.
