Robert T. Guyton
Bossier City, LA – Services celebrating the life of Senior Master Sergeant Robert Taylor Guyton will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Dr. Randy Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to services.
Robert was born on July 5, 1937 in Columbus, MS and passed away at 80 years old on April 20, 2018 in Bossier City. He enlisted in the United States Air Force April 10, 1956 at the age of 18 serving 41 years, 2 months, and 2 days including active duty, civil service, and reserves.
He became a highly skilled mechanic by trade dedicated to serving his country. He enjoyed fishing, boating, outdoor activities, working on airplanes and cars, and playing with all of his grandchildren. He was a committed family man and member of Bellaire Baptist Church leading to his interest in gospel and country music. Once retired, he spent his days doing yard work, watching westerns, and being the boss.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of thirty-seven years Juanita Harrell Guyton, parents Johnnie and Robby Celeste Guyton, brother John Lynn Guyton, and son Timothy Wayne Guyton.
Robert is survived by his wife Geretta Guyton, brother Billy Guyton (Lanette), three children Robert L. Guyton, Melody A. Webb (Ronald), Michael Yee (Renee), 12 grandchildren Courtney Wiseman, Stephanie Ecklund, Bobbie Jo Guyton, Danielle Farris, Keisha Kopf, Kayla Welch, Taylor Guyton, Dustin Adkinson, Jodie Ann Jacobs, Kayte Lea Lynch, Ryan Yee, and Savannah Meredith and 20 great grand-children who he loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be Sam Teutsch, Colin Jacobs, Daniel Lynch, Garrett Reagan, Allen Peace, and J.R. Ferguson. Alternates include: Louis Munn, Brandon DuBois, and Thomas Gilmartin.
Robert “Boss” was honored to reside at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home for five years. The family would like to thank Regional Hospice Care Group of Northwest Louisiana for their extended sentiment and support during this difficult time.
