James Curtis Jiles
Plain Dealing, LA – Memorial services for James Curtis Jiles, 68, will be held, Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 10:30 a.m at the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Plain Dealing, Louisiana.
Curtis was born November 11, 1947, in Columbus, Georgia, and died in Bossier City, Louisiana, on July 25, 2016, after a battle with cancer and heart disease.
Curtis was a career dental lab technician. He was an avid sportsman and fisherman. The only thing he enjoyed more than fishing was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Curtis had a big heart and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Plain Dealing, Louisiana.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil L. Jiles, Sr., and Estine Giddings Jiles, and his brother, Virgil L. Jiles, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Effie Howe Jiles; a son, Cory Alan Jiles, of Lafayette, Louisiana; three grandsons, Cameron Sykes, Austyn Alan Jiles, both of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Avery Alyn Jiles, of Lafayette, Louisiana; a sister, Susan Jiles Lindanger, and husband, Earl, Jr., of Shreveport, Louisiana; a brother-in-law, Donald Howe of Rodessa, Louisiana; three sisters-in-law, Mary McLelland and husband, Olan; Barbara Collins and husband, Mike, all of Bossier City, Louisiana; and Joyce Jiles, of Minot, North Dakota; as well as numerous nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
