Barbara Arnold Armitage
BOSSIER CITY, LA – Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Arnold Armitage, 74, will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, July 29, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. Conducting the service will be Rev. David Dietzel and Rev. Uriah Oxford. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Barbara was born on December 31, 1941, in Shreveport, LA., and passed away on the evening of July 26, 2016, with her loving family surrounding her.
Barbara, along with her husband Jerry, raised three sons and three daughters. This August would have marked 58 years of marriage with the man she has loved since she was 16 years old. Her whole life was devoted to her family who meant everything to her. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed nothing more than dinners with her family.
Barbara is preceded in death by her son, Michael Armitage; parents, James and Zemmeriah Arnold; brother, Ben Arnold; and nephews, Billy Hawkins and Jeff Arnold. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Armitage; her children, Pam Hardiman and husband Dennis, Steve Armitage and wife Dondra, Nancy Holcomb and husband Mike, Kirk Armitage and wife Cheri, and Deanna Zimmerman and husband Brad; sister, Jane Hawkins and husband Doug; grandchildren, Lindsey Robbins, Jessica Duos, Holley Chapman, Justin Markiel, Madyson Armitage, and Matthew Holcomb; great-grandchildren, Rylie, Nathan, Braelyn, Memphis, Kingston, and Weston; numerous nieces and nephews; and several relatives in Kentucky.
Pallbearers are Brandon Chapman, Braden Arnold, Robbie Duos, Chris Robbins, Alan Cason, and Glenn Whittington.
