Michael “Mike” Darryl Sepeda – July 5, 1961 – April 2, 2017
Plain Dealing, LA – Visitation for Michael “Mike” Darryl Sepeda will be Tuesday, April 4th from 6-8pm at the Rose Neath Chapel on Airline Drive in Bossier City. Services will be Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 1 pm at Rose Neath Chapel. Internment will be at Rose Neath Cemetery in Bossier City. Michael entered into rest on April 2, 2017 at Willis Knighton North in Shreveport, Louisiana after battling long term illnesses.
Michael was born to Marjorie Remedies Park (MoMo) and Herman E. Sepeda on July 5, 1961 in Mansfield, Louisiana. He was raised by Houston Columbus Lum Park (PoPo). Michael had three brothers and two sisters, Donald Sepeda, Ronald Sepeda, James Sepeda, Brenda Sepeda and Angela Sepeda Newberry.
Michael was a member of the Coast Guard and then went into Active Duty in the United States Army. He met the love of his life and best friend, Dottie Melinda Carter Sepeda and they were married October 20, 1981. Michael was a father to three children, David Boyd, Jennifer Sepeda and Christopher Sepeda (his “baby boy”). He loved coaching baseball and softball for many years in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. Michael also loved his LSU Tiger baseball and football along with his beloved Dallas Cowboys and watching his kids and grandkids play sports.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie, father, Herman and the man that raised him, Lum. Also by his sister Brenda and daughter Jennifer.
He is survived by his best friend, Dottie Sepeda and sons David Boyd, wife Stephanie; Christopher Sepeda, wife Kimberly and one that was like his son, D.J. Sepeda, wife Teresa. He has nine grandchildren. Shannon Boyd, Sean Godfrey, Emily Boyd, Lauren Sepeda, Cassidy Cloud, Jacob Boyd, Alan Sepeda, J.R. Boyd and Kenley Ellard-Sepeda. Michael has a whole host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers are Austin Sepeda, Sean Godfrey, Jesse Tallant, Joe Sepeda, D.J Sepeda, Randy Sepulvado and Arnold Sepulvado. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons, Jacob, J.R. and Alan.
We would like to thank Dr’s Taylor and Morrison, nurses Dorothea, India, Jordan and the Wills Knighton North MICU and Emergency Room staff for taking such great care of our Michael and of the family.
