Registration is underway now for a motorcycle ride that’s also a fundraiser benefiting Susan G. Komen North Louisiana. “Save the Boobies Run” will be held Saturday, July at 9 a.m. at the Harley Davidson dealership, 2225 Autoplex Dr., Bossier City with a poker run.

The ride will end at Faith Farms & Arena in Elm Grove with a concert and live auction. Musical Acts will perform during the day including headliners Jasmine Cain and Don Woods with his hit, Whiskey Melody. Local bands such as Fare Warning will be performing plus many others.  There will be a bounce house and waterslide for the kids and a Tattoo Truck for the grownups. Catfish plates will be available for $7 plus there will be other food vendors on site. Concerts will go until 10 p.m. and a small fireworks show will close out the night. Kids are free for this family friendly event.

All of the proceeds will go to benefit Susan G. Komen North Louisiana.

Executive Director, Lindsay Dean is excited the ride is back in Bossier City, “A few years ago Tracey Cornell organized this event and raised over $6,000 dollars.  Now it’s back by popular demand and has quite a following.  We encourage anyone who likes a fun motorcycle ride to get registered and be a part of this unique fundraising effort.  Money raised by this event will not only go to breast cancer research, but will also provide funding for local breast health programs right here in North Louisiana. Whether or not a woman has health insurance, Komen North Louisiana provides education and outreach to make sure every woman has access to screening for breast cancer and if she can’t afford it, we can help.  If a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, we fund local programs to provide support and temporary financial assistance.”

Dean continued, “In 2016, Komen declared a Bold Goal to reduce the current number of breast cancer death s by 50-percent in the United State within the next decade.  Fundraisers hosted by others such as the Save the Boobies Run will go far in helping us achieve that Bold Goal.”
