Obituary: Angeline “Angie” Lucille Maranto D’Anna

Angeline “Angie” Lucille Maranto D’Anna went to Heaven after a brief illness on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Christus Highland Medical Center. Mrs. D’Anna was born on December 19, 1925 in Bossier City, Louisiana, and resided in Shreveport for most of her blessed 91 years.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6th from 5 to 7pm followed by a Rosary Service at Osborn Funeral Home. Christian Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, April 7th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Mark Franklin of St. Joseph’s, and Monsignor Earl Provenza and Father Charles Glorioso of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Angie was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a long-time member of The Immaculate Conception Society. She was a homemaker and beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She loved sharing her outstanding authentic Italian dishes and cookies with everyone, and playing cards with her sisters and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Maranto of Bossier City, her loving husband of 60 years, Frank D’Anna, her son, Nick D’Anna, four sisters Stella Webb, Mary Jones, Tena Namie, Rosina Williams, and two brothers Joseph Maranto, Jr. and Tony Maranto.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Rosalyn D’Anna Grassi Tuminello, and husband Paul of Shreveport, five grandchildren, Lisa D’Anna Smith and husband Johnny of Midland, Michigan, Chris D’Anna and wife Jessica of Houston, Texas, Sean Paul Grassi of Shreveport, David Grassi and wife Jaclyn of Deville, Louisiana, Angela Grassi Crow and husband Neal of Jerome, Arkansas, ten great-grandchildren, Ashley, Lindsey, and Haley Smith, Olivia and Jillian D’Anna, Jack, John, and Stella Grassi, and Nathan and Katherine Crow, two sisters Josephine Miller of Arlington, Texas and Dorothy Brocato of Shreveport, and one brother Joe Maranto of Houston.

Pallbearers will be Chris D’Anna, Sean Paul Grassi, David Grassi, Johnny Smith, Neal Crow, Rick Namie, Nomie Name, and Steve D’Anna.
