Fuller Center for Housing NWLA is asking the community and businesses to Take the Leap for Housing with a thrilling fundraiser on Oct. 7.
The partnership between Fuller Center NWLA and Over The Edge will feature the first 100 individuals who raise $1,000 or more will be given the opportunity to rappel 232 feet down the Historic Beck Building in downtown Shreveport.
It is only $100 to register for this thrill-seeking opportunity and help a community cause.
Fuller Center for Housing NWLA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to Build Homes, Build Lives and Change Communities. Future homeowners work alongside volunteers to earn the opportunity to purchase an affordable home with a no interest, 20-year mortgage. Since 2005, more than 3600 volunteers have helped to build 56 homes for Veterans and working families; thereby restoring neighborhoods and strengthening our community.
Over the Edge has helped non-profits raise over $60 million in over 10 years. They have conducted over 600 events in the United States and around the world but never in north Louisiana or our Ark-La-Tex area.
“Fuller Center NWLA does not accept government funds to support its mission. We have always relied on individual donations, foundation grants and our faith based community to support our programs. Meeting our goal for this event will ensure that we can continue the work of building homes. We thank our supporters for their confidence in our ability to build homes, build lives and change communities,” said Lee A. Jeter, Sr. , executive director of the Fuller Center for Housing NWLA.
For those who prefer to stay on the ground, there will also be a Landing Zone for family fun, music and food. To participate, inquire about sponsorships, donate or learn more information visit www.overtheedgenwla.com or contact Lee A. Jeter, Sr. at 318.865.1237 or info@fullercenternwla.org.
